Nathan R. Jerald (1849-1916) was in the advertising business. In Springfield he was the managing editor of the State Register and the Record and also worked for Horn Advertising. His wife was Hester Pickett (1850-1917). They were the parents of two sons: Dr. Clarence Hall Jerald (1883-1946) who would live at 1412 Holmes and Eugene Stacy Jerald (1876-1937) who would follow his parents as a resident of 1334 Holmes. Eugene and his wife Nellie Morse (1876-1940) were the parents of three children: Margaret, Nathan and Jane.
