Jesse F. McAnally (1878-1951) was the first Laurel Methodist minister living at 1406 Holmes. He was born in Franklin County, IL and was educated at Carbondale Normal School, Ohio Wesleyan, and the University of Illinois. He was the minister at Laurel Methodist Church from 1908-1910.
Edwin Barton Randle (1852-1918) was born in Madison County, IL. He started preaching in 1877. He served as minister at Laurel Methodist Church from 1910-1915.
