Charles Hoogland (1930-2020) was the founder and CEO of Family Video. Which had one time had 800 stores and over 10,000 employees. A consequence of this success was the Hoogland family foundation which supports the arts, sciences and education. Charles and his wife Kathleen, born McLain, lived at 1600 Holmes for only a few years. Kathleen grew up in Hawthorne Place at 1400 Lowell.
